CKD symptoms (Chronic Kidney Disease) - Women

There are no symptoms of kidney disease that are specific to women. If you are experiencing fatigue, poor appetite, swelling feet, or puffiness around the eyes, consider getting tested for the disease.

What causes kidney problems in women?

Diseases and conditions that cause chronic kidney disease include: Type 1 or type 2 diabetes. High blood pressure. Glomerulonephritis (gloe-mer-u-low-nuh-FRY-tis), an inflammation of the kidney's filtering units (glomeruli - a cluster of nerve endings, spores, or small blood vessels, in particular a cluster of capillaries around the end of a kidney tubule, where waste products are filtered from the blood).

Get good prenatal care and start as early as possible. Treat urinary tract infections right away. If you have CKD, know which types of birth control may harm your kidneys, and which types of drugs are safe to use when you are pregnant. WCRx can help!
