CKD symptoms (Chronic Kidney Disease) - Men

There are no symptoms of kidney disease that are specific to men. While the need to urinate more often can be a sign of kidney disease in both men and women, it can also be a symptom of an enlarged prostate in men.

What causes kidney problems in men?

Diseases and conditions that cause chronic kidney disease include: Type 1 or type 2 diabetes. High blood pressure. Glomerulonephritis (gloe-mer-u-low-nuh-FRY-tis), an inflammation of the kidney's filtering units (glomeruli - a cluster of nerve endings, spores, or small blood vessels, in particular a cluster of capillaries around the end of a kidney tubule, where waste products are filtered from the blood).

Check with the WCRx team to know if any prostate or hormone treatments can hurt your kidneys.

If you have an enlarged prostate, ask the WCRx healthcare team if it is causing a blockage in your urinary tract.
